Thompson Remington served in the Civil War.

In the 1880 Federal Census, he & Elizabeth are living at Masena Twp., Cass Co., Iowa, with their two sons, and an aunt named Electa Prindle, age 71. In 1910 Thompson & Elizabeth J. In 1920 Thompson & Elizabeth are ages 79 & 76, and living on Trade Street in Salem, Marion Co., Oregon.

Additional info from Patricia G. Coon:
"Electa Fisher 1826 - 1891 was married to Aaron Conger 1812-1843 and they had three children: William Sarah and John Conger. Aaron died in 1843 and Electa re-married Daniel Prindle. They had three children: Fisher, Amos and Araminta Prindle."

My note: Electa could be a sister of Thompson's mother, Elizabeth "Betsey" Fisher. This needs more research to confirm.
