Henry Truman Remington

In 1910, Truman Remignton is age 13 KS, living with Wm. & Alva G. Wildman (sp?) at Bloomfield, Mitchell Co., KS. He is a nephew.

In 1920 Henry T. Remington is age 23 KS, living at Larrabee, Gove Co., KS.

In 1930 Truman H. Remington is age 32 and married to Ada, living at Larrabee. They have one child.

Henry — Ada Richardson. Ada was born Abt 1897, KS; died Aft 1 Apr 1930. [Group Sheet]

1. Wayne W. Remington was born 27 Feb 1930, KS; died 19 Dec 2000, KS.

Notes:

In 1860, Silas W. Remington at age 1 is living at Schroon, Essex Co., NY, with his parents and sister.

In 1870 he is living at Malone, Franklin Co., NY, with his mother and stepfather Truman Safford. His sister Mary Remington is also there.

In 1880 Silas is 22 and living at Grant, Lincoln Co., KS, with his mother and stepfather. The census shows that his parents were born VT/NY.

In 1900 Silas H. Remington is widowed and living at Round Springs, Mitchell Co., KS. He has four children.

In 1860 his middle initial is shown as W; in 1900 it is H.

In the Federal Census of 1850, he appears to be the Henry Remington age 27 VT, a farmer, living at Danby, Rutland Co., VT; he is living with the Southworth family; they are listed near the household of Henry's father Joshua and other family members.

In the Federal Census of 1860, Henry & Fidelia F. Remington, ages 35 & 22, are living at Schroon, Essex Co., NY. They have two children. The family is next to Justus B. Remington and his family, and near Ziba Remington and family.

Henry — Fidelia F. Unknown. Fidelia was born Abt 1838, NY; died Aft 1 Jun 1880. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

In the Federal Census of 1870, Phidelia has remarried to Truman Safford. They are living at Malone, Franklin Co., NY. With them are Mary & Silas Remington, Fidelia's children from her marriage to Henry Remington. Also there are other Safford family members, probably from a first marriage of Truman.

In 1880 they are living at Grant, Lincoln Co., KS.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Joshua Remington, Jr., appears to be age 54 and living in Danby, Rutland, VT. His wife is not there, so apparently she has passed away. In the household are son Hosea, and Hulda, assumed to be Hosea's wife, and their two young children.

In the 1860 Federal Census, Joshua Remington is age 70 and living at Schroon, Essex Co., NY, with his son Justus and family.

In 1870, Joshua is age 80 and living with son Ziba and family at Horicon, Warren Co., NY.

One local history says he was born about 1790. It also states that he lived at Wallingford and Hinesburg, VT, and in later years at Huntington. (source: "New England Families" Vol. I, Genealogies and Memorials, p. 381)

The name of Joshua's wife, as well as a list of some of his children, came from "New England Families" Vol. I, Genealogies and Memorials, p. 381. Also, her name, and birth/death dates for Polly & Joshua, are found in the book "Descendants of Roger Williams" Book III, Sayles Line, p. 203. This source says Joshua was born c1790 at Wall, VT.

"History of Worcester Co., MA" p 98 says he married Diadama (source: Google Books). Rootsweb's Worldconnect has a family tree showing Joshua's second wife as Diademia Clark, date of marriage 1 June 1835.

Joshua married Polly Sayles Abt 1812. Polly (daughter of Ezekiel Sayles, Jr. and Martha Ross) was born 5 Mar 1790, Wallingford, Rutland, VT; died 25 May 1834, Hinesburg, Chittenden, VT; was buried , Newell Stokes, Starksboro, Addison Co., VT. [Group Sheet]

The book "Descendants of Roger Williams" Book III, Sayles Line, p. 203, says Polly died at Starksboro, VT.
