| Warwick Castle, home of several generations of our ancestors. This family line comes down to Jeremy Clarke, who came to America in 1639 and settled in Newport, RI, as one of the original settlers. He signed the Portsmouth Compact in 1639, along with several of our other ancestors. Jeremy is a direct descendant of King Edward I of England and his wife Eleanor of Castile, through their daughter Joan Plantagenet, who died in 1307.
