According to the census data, John immigrated in 1886, and was naturalized.

In 1920 Warren & Jessie are not found in the census. However, four of their children (apparently) are living with their maternal grandparents, Frank E. & Addie M. Furman, at Tunkhannock, Wyoming Co., PA. Their names are listed as Frank E., 13; Elizabeth A., 11; Isabel E., 11; and Stanley R., 9 (all surname Remington).

In 1940, Pierre and Sylvia Bonard are living in Lincoln, RI. He is a driver for a dairy farm; she is a clerk at a department store.

The following information is from the Standard-Times:
As a young man, Pierre worked on his family's farm in Croix, Switzerland. Being adventurous and seeking greater opportunities in farming, he came to America and settled in Saylesville. There he worked on his brother's dairy farm until 1941 when he went to work for the M. S. Danforth Dairy Farm in Exeter as a farm foreman.
In 1943 young Bonard wanted to do something for his new country, so he joined the Navy. And it was while he was in the middle of the invasion of Iwo Jima on 20 February 1945, that he dedicated himself to the service of God. When he returned to the States, he became a Sunday School teacher and Deacon at Wood River Church in Wyoming, RI. In 1960 he was ordained an Elder for the Six Principle Baptist denomination, and in 1958 reopened the old Baptist Meeting House on Stony Lane in North Kingstown, where he served as pastor until his death. An article in the Wickford newspaper, The Standard-Times, on 7 May 1970 told the story of his life and ministry.

4237 In the 1930 Federal Census, A. Andrew Remington, Jr., age 27 b RI, is living at Attleboro, Bristol Co., MA. He is married to Charlotte R., age 32, born MA. They are boarding at 124 Pleasant St., the home of Lillie MacDonald, age 63.

A. Andrew is a salesman for a gold & silver refiner, while Charlotte is a bookkeeper at a bank. According to the census data, both of A's parents were born in RI; Charlotte's father was born in Scotland, while her mother was born in England. Apparently the couple was married within the past year, because the ages at marriage are the same as their current ages.

Charles was a charter member of the Casualty Actuarial Society. He worked for many years at Aetna Life Insurance Company, starting as a clerk and eventually becoming a vice-president. He also had a second career in real estate, as well as in patent insurance.

In the same census there is another listing for a Charles E. Remington, age 68, widowed, living in District 16, Warwick, Kent Co., RI. He is next to Seth Remington, who would be the first cousin once removed of Abbie's husband. I am wondering if he is listed twice or if there is another Charles of the same age.

Charles died at age 76.
