  • Notes
    • In the 1910 Federal Census, Frederick & Estella Hoar are living at East Providence, RI. They have a son and a daughter, Madeline & James; and also two boarders living in the household, Arthur W. Jones & William R. Wardwell.

In 1920, Frederick & Stella are still at East Providence, and their two children are still with them.

In 1930, Frederick, Stella, & son James F. Hoar, 20, are still living in East Providence, RI. They are right near married daughter Madeline goff and her family.

In the words of Ray Castro, a Bristol resident and fire department buff who researched this for me: Fred "was a member of the Hydrauluon Engine & Hose Co. No.1 which was located at the corner of High and Franklin Street. This exact photo is one of several dozen old photos still proudly displayed in the company meeting room now located on Anawamscutt Drive. This fire company has been serving the community since 1843."

Notes from my dad, Norman Remington: "Fred must have served with the fire department when quite young. Eventually he worked for the street railway until his death sometime in the 1940's. He had enough seniority, I suspect, to choose his routes - which was the Hope Street route."
