- Amos and Mary are buried in Exeter Historical Cemetery # 19.
From Craig Rice's notes at Rootsweb's Worldconnect: "The 1774 census shows Amos with his wife and 2 children, a boy and a girl both under 16. The 1782 census shows Amos with 2 boys and 1 girl under 15 and one black, living in Exeter. Amos being somewhat advanced in years wrote his will 17 Apr 1823 which was proved 4 May 1835. It mentions sons John (living), Pardon, Amos Jr, and Samuel Stafford. Daughters Mary Wells wife of John Wells deceased and Hannah Whitford, single. It also mentions land of John Whitford late of Exeter, deceased. Witnesses were Stephen Reynolds, Samuel Reynolds and Abigail Reynolds. John Whitford of Exeter, yeoman sold to Amos Whitford of Exeter, labourer 15 acres of land bounded by the highway, John Gardner and the grantor for 1300 pounds. This transaction was dated 30 Nov 1764 and recorded 4 Dec 1764. Signed John Whitford and witnessed by Daniel Gill, Jr and John Whitford, Jr. Source: Exeter Land Evidences, RI Gen Reg Vol 18 - Lib of Mich. This could be the land referred to in Amos' will. It would have been sold to him by his father and witnessed by his brother John Jr. Daniel Gill Jr. was his brother-in-law, his sister Mercy's husband."
