- Joshua was a Captain in the 1st Johnston Co., 1788; purchased land in Glen's Tract, Herkimer Co., NY, 1792.
He is listed in the 1777 Military Census at Johnston, RI, along with his father Joshua and brother Stephen.
Joshua and Anne Remington signed the following deeds at Johnston:

Joshua Remington of Johnston Esq received 36 L 6 shillings from Charles Dyer of Cranston for "the northerly part of a tract of land that I bought of John C. Greene" also grants a privilege to pass thro Caleb Remington's land to and from the road that leads to Providence with teams; land sold by me to Caleb Remington on or about 4 Aug 1788.
