- I have speculated that the following information in the Portsmouth land records could refer to this John:
John Remington late of Warwick, labourer, was a resident of Prudence Island by 3 or 30 June 1744 when he bought land from Ebenezer Allin yeoman of PI. JR paid 400 pounds for 20 acres abutted as follows: S on land of John Allin, E on the Bay or Saltwater, W & N on land of sd Ebenezer Allin the grantor. Witnessed by Daniel Pearce Jun & William Remington. No wives mentioned. (Po Land Ev Bk 4 p 359)
Could he be the John Remington of Warwick who had a wife named Freelove? He died in 1745.
