    I have placed Hannah in this family group based on her will and other confirming and suggesting evidence.

    The will of Hannah Leavitt of Suffield, CT, is dated 3 Feb 1769, and approved 8 May 1769 at Hartford Co., CT (CT Wills and Probate Records 1690-1999, image online). To her eldest son Aseph and his wife, she leaves her "long blew riding hood and a lasecap." To kinswoman Hannah Remington she leaves her "black and white gound." To Sarah Alen she leaves a "calico gound." Son Enoch is to pay her sons Joseph and Samuel each 20 shillings worth of cattle or grain when they are are age 21. She names her loving brother Samuel Remington as executor.

    The will was witnessed by Joseph Hastengs Jr., Thomas Remington, and Elizabeth Wilcutt Dunklee. A note at the bottom of the will states that at Hartford County Suffield April 1769 personally appeared and made oath the three witnesses.

    The inventory of her estate was signed by Joseph Hastengs Jr. and Stephen Remington, 15 June 1769; the inventory was exhibited by Samuel Remington, executor.

    If Hannah is indeed part of this family group, Thomas Remington mentioned as a witness must be her nephew, and Stephen is her brother. Joseph Hastings, Jr. is husband of Hannah's niece Sarah Remington.

    Hannah married Joseph Leavitt 30 Mar 1743. Joseph was born 27 Jan 1714/15; died 24 Jun 1757. [Group Sheet]
