Early Remington ancestors

We have two Remington ancestral lines, both originating with the first Remington to come to Massachusetts in the early 1600s. Research is ongoing to complete the links in the male line.

Ben & Adeline were born, raised, and married in Tiverton, RI. The oldest of their 12 children was born in Tiverton, but all of the others were born in Warwick. They moved to the area known as "Old Warwick," near where West Shore Road loops between Oakland Beach and Conimicut. This is also the area first settled by our ancestor Samuell Gorton and his followers in the 1640s.
