    Notes:

An online genealogy at Rootsweb has his first name as Jacob, but that is incorrect. It comes from the 1920 Federal Census, but must be a census-taker's error. That year J. Clifford & Hattie are living at Fenton, Genesee Co., MI, and his mother Emma is with them. In the 1930 Federal Census, "Cliford J. Remington" is age 62 and living at 630 Adelaide St. in Fenton, Genesee Co., MI, with his wife "Hariet C." and daughter Marguerite, aged 40, as well as his mother Emma J., aged 84.

Quote from Tim Remington, after visiting Michigan:
"There is a house that is still standing that was the home of John Broadhead Remington (our great grandfather). He built it using bricks he made in his brickyard. We have pictures of it and also a millstone that was used in 1840. We visited the historical museum in the afternoon and the folks there were great. They delighted in showing us the history they found of our relatives and put together a packet of information for us. They also showed us a brick that came from John Broadhead Remington's brickyard and it had the initials "JR" engraved in it. I understand that stamping initials into the bricks was typical of the bricks built in those days."
