In the 1930 Federal Census, Harold N. Remington is age 27, as is his wife Alice, who was born in Canada. They are living in Suffield, CT, and according to the census, have been married one year. With them is Alice's brother Gordon Hue, age 23, who was born in MA. Census data says their parents both were born in Canada. George works for the government as Town Clerk, while Alice is a stenographer at a carpet mill, and Gordon is a stock keeper at the carpet mill.

They are next door to Harold's sister Lola Shields and her family. Lola's husband Peter also works at the carpet mill.

Their parents, George & Bertha Remington, are nearby, as are their other siblings.

Harold married Alice Bella Hue 8 Jun 1929. Alice was born 1903; died 1988; was buried , Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield, Hartford Co., CT. [Group Sheet]

George N. Remington is 3 years old in the 1880 Federal Census at Suffield, CT.

In the 1920 Federal Census, George is age 42 and his wife Bertha is 39. They are living at Suffield, CT, next door to George's father and family. Their four children, ages 9 - 17, are with them. George's occupation is given as tobacco farmer, as is his father's.

George is pictured in a paperback book about the history of Old Suffield (see Google Books).

In 1930 they are still at Suffield. George is 53 and Bertha is 50. According to the census data, they have been married 30 years. Their two sons, Charles 24, and George 19, are with them. The family is living next to daughter Lola Shields and her family, and a couple of doors down from son Harold and his wife Alice. Ruth Remington, age 35, George's (assumed) half-sister, is also nearby.

George married Bertha Hayward 2 Jan 1901. Bertha was born 1880, CT; died 29 Jan 1953. [Group Sheet]

In the 1880 Federal Census, Charles K. & Sarah A. Remington are ages 26 & 25, and are living in Suffield, CT, with their two young children, George N. 3, and Clara E. 1 month. According to the census data, Sarah's father was born in CT, and her mother in Scotland. Charles's occupation is "laborer," while Sarah is "keeping house."

In the 1920 Federal Census, Charles T. Remington is age 66 and his wife "Kate" is 63. According to census data, both of Kate's parents were born in England. I am assuming that she is Charles's second wife (needs confirmation). Charles is a tobacco farmer. In the household is daughter Ruth, 26. They are still at Suffield, CT, and are living next door to son George N. Remington and his wife Bertha, and their four children.

Charles married Sarah A. Gambell 7 Oct 1874. Sarah was born Abt 1855, CT; died 4 Jul 1917; was buried , Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield, CT. [Group Sheet]

In the 1860 Federal Census, "Steven Remington" is age 43, and his wife Emeline is 38. They are living at Suffield, CT, with their four children: Albert M. 16, Ellen 14, John D. 12, & Charles F. 6. Also with them is Mary Allen, age 82. Stephen is a wheelwright.

In 1870 Stephen is 52 and Emeline is 46. Their four children are still with them: Albert M. 26, Ella E. 23, John 21, & Charles T. 16. Also in the household is Ellen S. Remington, 21, b. MA. I am guessing that she is Albert's wife, although that is not stated. Alfred Bear, age 11, is also living with the family. Stephen and sons Albert & John are all wagon makers.
