    In the Federal Census of 1920, Clark & Kate, ages 58 & 51, are at Eau Claire, WI. They have a daughter, Chula M., 7.

    In the Federal Census of 1930, the family is at Spring Brook, Dunn Co., WI.

    Clark married Kate L. Unknown Abt 1907. Kate was born Abt 1867, WI; died 1954; was buried , Waneka Cemetery, Elk Mound, Dunn Co., WI. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    In 1870 & 1880, Orthos & Mary are living at Spring Brook, Dunn Co., WI, with their three children. Elsewhere, his name is spelled Orthus.

    In the Federal Census of 1900, Orthus & Mary are ages 72 & 59, living with or next to son Archie and family at Spring Brook.

    In the Federal Census of 1910, Orthos T. & Mary A. Remington are ages 82 & 68. They are still at Spring Brook, near married son Clark who is a dentist.

    In the Federal Census of 1920, Orthus Remington is a widower aged 92, living with married daughter Emma Turner and family at Spooner, Washburn Co., WI.

    Orthos married Mary Ann Dixon Abt 1858. Mary was born Abt Jan 1841, NH; died 1913, WI; was buried , Waneka Cemetery, Elk Mound, Dunn Co., WI. [Group Sheet]

    In the 1820 Federal Census, the three brothers -- Thomas, Silas, & Alva -- are listed at Henrietta, Monroe Co., NY.

    Silas went to Wisconsin in the 1840s.

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Silas & Margaret Remington are living at Genesee, Waukesha Co., WI. There are four children in the household: B. 25, Orthos 22, M. 20, & A. 18 (the last two are females).

    I have made an assumption that M. is Marcelia, based on her age.

    His gravestone data says he was born at Rutland, VT.

    Silas married Margaret Clark 24 Jan 1824. Margaret was born Abt 1 Jul 1791, VT; died 7 Feb 1882, Dunn Co., WI; was buried , Waneka Cemetery, Elk Mound, Dunn Co., WU. [Group Sheet]

    In 1870, Margaret Remington is age 79, living with Barlow & Euphena in Spring Brook, Dunn Co., WI.

    In 1880 she is age 89, still at Spring Brook, living with the Ray family.

    Notes:

    Thomas and his family must have lived in Vermont for a while, because his son Silas was born at Rupert, VT, in 1792, according to Boyd Scott Remington's chart. Also, the 1860 census shows Thomas's birthplace as VT. The 1790 census lists Thomas Remington at Rupert (indexed at Ancestry.com as Bennington); the 1800 census shows Thomas & Silas "Remmington" at Rupert. They are the only Remington families there at the time. My assumption is that the Silas on the census is Thomas's brother, b. 1776.

    The following notes are from "Reunion of Descendants of Alvah Remington, 1797-1888" at Online Collections at BYU:

    Thomas & Olive moved to Rupert, VT, in 1787. Thomas was Selectman, Captain of the Militia, and a prominent resident of Rupert for twenty-five years.

    Thomas married Olive Nelson 13 Mar 1788, Suffield, Hartford Co., CT. Olive (daughter of William Nelson and Mary Carpenter) was born 30 May 1767, Lyme, NH; died 15 Apr 1844, NY; was buried , Riverview Cemetery, Henrietta, NY. [Group Sheet]
