  1. 1.  Christopher Ralph Colvin was born Abt Mar 1808 (son of David Colvin and Rebecca Phillips); died 25 Sep 1853; was buried , David Colvin Cemetery, Glenview Ct., Scituate, RI.

    Notes:

In the Federal Census of 1850, Christopher R. Colvin is age 40 and Nabby Colvin is age 63. I don't know if these ages are accurate.

From the RI Cemetery Database: COLVIN CHRISTOPHER R 1827c - 25 SEP 1853 SC121. This data is confusing. Perhaps the stone is not easily readable.

The will of Christopher R. Colvin of Cranston is dated 14 Aug 1852, proved 29 Oct 1853. It mentions wife Nabby "who received what she had before our marriage"; sister Lydia Carpenter w/o Peleg; Henry Hierlihy executor.

Boyd Scott Remington has Christopher R. Colvin as marrying Alta Mary Remington. It could be that Nabby was his second wife, as implied by the wording in his will.

Christopher married Abigail "Nabby" Knight Aft 1806. Abigail (daughter of Barzillai Knight and Eleanor Carpenter) was born Abt 1787; died Aft 1 Jun 1850. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

According to a genealogy at Rootsweb's Worldconnect, David was married first to Rebecca Phillips, with whom he had six children. Rebecca Colvin is buried in the same cemetery lot, so I am including her here as David's first wife.

I obtained the names of David's parents from an online family tree; this information needs to be confirmed.
