  1. 1.  Rebecca Arnold was born 5 Dec 1720, Warwick, RI (daughter of Israel Arnold, II and Dorothy Whipple).

  1. 2.  Israel Arnold, II was born 18 Jan 1677/78 (son of Israel Arnold, I and Mary Barker); died 1753, Warwick, RI.

    Notes:

    Israel was the second husband of Elizabeth (Stafford) Case. His will mentions his wife Elizabeth; sons Christopher, Joseph, & Simon; and daughters Lydia (Sheldon), Mary (Carpenter), Rebecca, & Barshaba; and grandsons Israel, Peleg, & Stephen Arnold.

    It was either this "Israel Arnold of Pawtuxet" or his father who in 1707 purchased land in Cowesett from the heirs of Robert Potter. This piece of land was originally designated as farm #3, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Routes 2 & 3. Part of this was later sold to the Remingtons.

    Israel married Dorothy Whipple 24 Dec 1719, Warwick, RI. Dorothy was born Abt 1680; died 10 Sep 1723. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    When Israel married her in 1719, she was the widow of Malacha (Malachi) Rhodes/Roades.

  1. 4.  Israel Arnold, I was born 13 Oct 1649, Pawtuxet, Warwick, RI (son of Stephen Arnold, Sr. and Sarah Smith); died 15 Sep 1717.

    Notes:

    Israel's will names his father, Stephen; his wife, Mary; and his children: Israel, William, Elisha, Stephen, James, Joseph (eldest), Josiah, Mary (Low), Sarah (Carpenter), & Barbary (Carpenter). I have estimated the dates of birth for most of them -- needs more research.

    Mary's will dated 29 July 1721 mentions children Israel, William, Elisha, Stephen, Joseph, James, Mary (Low), Sarah (Carpenter), & Barbary (Carpenter).

    Notes:

    Sarah's will, dated 26 April 1708 at Warwick, says she is a widow stricken in years, of Pawtucket, of Providence. The will mentions sons Israel (eldest), Stephen, & Elisha (youngest); daughters Elizabeth (Greene), Sarah (Carpenter), & Phebe (w/o Benjamin Smith of Warwick); 11 or 12 granddaughters, and one grandson.
