    This family group is in the 1880 Federal Census at Burrillville, Providence, RI (his name is trancsribed at "familysearch.com" as Dant C. Remington). DeWitt's mother-in-law Charlotte Harris is also with them. They are next door to DeWitt's half-brother Clarence, who was soon to die.

    In the 1850 Federal Census, DeWitt C. Remington, 37, is living in Scituate, RI, with his son, DeWitt Jr., 8. His first wife had died, and another son, George, 10, is living with Colby relatives in 1850.

    In 1880, Dewitt & Adah M. Remington are living at Scituate, Providence Co., RI. Daniel H. & Mary C. Remington are living with them, as well as three other individuals. Daniel is the town clerk.
