Some genealogies have Stephen's father as John. However, James N. Arnold's "Vital Record of RI," Kent County/Warwick marriages, gives Stephen's father as Capt. Edward, of Cranston. He is very possibly the son of Stephen Arnold & Mary Sheldon, found elsewhere on this family tree. (needs more research)
