Notes:

The 1920 census shows his middle name as Waterman. He is age 34, single, and living with his family in Manhattan, NY. In the 1930 Federal Census, Henry Remington, Jr., is 44 and married. The census says he was married, at age 36, to Amy, now age 42. His widowed father is in the home; Henry Sr. is age 80. Also, his brother Harold, 42 and single, is with them. He has three young daughters: Helen, Edith, & Virginia.

Henry married Amy Morton Green Abt 1922. Amy was born 1888, RI; died 29 Aug 1966; was buried , Union Cemetery, Great Rd., North Smithfield, RI. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

In the 1870 Federal Census, Henry Remington is 20 and living at home in Smithfield, RI, with his widowed father, Jefferson, and two sisters, Anna & Ellen. In 1880 Henry W. Remington is 30, divorced, and living in North Smithfield, RI, with his father Jeff and sister Anna W., 28. Could he have married Ida E. Newell in 1877, and been divorced by 1880? (see RI Marriage Index)

In the 1920 Federal Census, Henry W. Remington & Emmaroy A. Remington are living in Manhattan, NY. He is 70 and she is 64. Two adult sons are in the home: Henry Waterman Remington, 34, and Harold J. Remington, 32.

If the census data is correct, Henry was married sometime after the 1870 census, and divorced before the 1880 census. He may then have married someone born in NY before he married Emmaroy, because the 1920 census data shows that the mother of his two sons was born in NY. Therefore, Emmaroy may not be their mother.

In 1930, Henry Remington is 80 years old, widowed, and still living in Manhattan, NY. With him are his two sons. Henry Jr. is married to Amy, and has three young daughters. Apparently he died not long after this census.

Henry married Emmaroy A. Unknown Aft 1 Jun 1880. Emmaroy was born 23 Apr 1855, RI; died 5 Aug 1924; was buried , Union Cemetery, Great Rd., North Smithfield, RI. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Jefferson Remington was one of triplets, all of whom lived to be age 72 or over.

In the 1870 Federal Census, Jefferson is age 53, living at Smithfield, RI. With him are Henry 20, Anna 18, & Ellen 16.

In the 1880 Federal Census at North Smithfield, RI, the family is as follows: Jeff Remington 63, widower, RI; Henry W. 30, div, RI; Anna W. 28, RI; and three other non-related individuals.

Jefferson married Naoma Paine 28 Sep 1848, Smithfield, RI. Naoma was born 8 Jul 1816, RI; died 2 Dec 1858; was buried , Union Cemetery, Great Rd., North Smithfield, RI. [Group Sheet]
