William's death record identifies his parents as John & Sarah Turner.

In the Federal Census of 1850, Wm B. & Rhoda Turner, ages 36 & 39, are living at Becket, Berkshire Co., MA. They have nine children. Also in the household are two of Rhoda's uncles, Joel & Amasa Tuttle, both born CT; also a laborer named Thomas Anthony, born Canada; and Lucy Gilbert 52 (?) MA.

In the 1860 Federal Census, the family is still at Becket. They have had three more children in the last decade. They are living near Rhoda's mother Sarah Remington, two brothers Alonzo & John, and John's wife Jane.

In 1870 the family is still at Becket. William is blind.

In 1880, William & Rhoda are still at Becket, MA. Two of their adult children and one grandson are also in the household.

William married Rhoda Coe Remington 31 Mar 1835, Becket, MA. Rhoda (daughter of John Remington and Sarah "Sally" Tuttle) was born 14 May 1810, Tolland, MA; died 28 Sep 1883, Becket, Berkshire Co., MA. [Group Sheet]

I have made an assumption that these are the parents of William B. Turner, because they were all born in NY, and all are living at Becket, MA, in the censuses.

In the 1850 and 1860 Federal Censuses, John & Sarah Turner are living at Becket, Berkshire Co., MA.

In 1870, John is living at Granville, Hampden Co., MA, with Samuel & Sarah Brooker and family. Sarah Brooker is John's daughter. I assume his wife Sarah must have died.

John's death record at Granville identifies his parents as David & Susan Turner. This may or may not be accurate, depending on the knowledge of the informant at the time of his death. The 1800 Federal Census lists a David Turner at Schodack, Rensselaer Co., NY; data shows two white males under age 10, among other categories. There are several other Turner families listed for that area of New York State.

John married Sarah "Sally" Burwell Abt 1811, NY. Sarah (daughter of William Burwell and Elizabeth Salsbury) was born 19 Apr 1788, Scotland or NY; died 1866. [Group Sheet]

A family note says she was born in Scotland, but the census records show her birthplace as New York State. Perhaps her parents came from Scotland.

The 1800 Federal Census lists a David Turner at Schodack, Rensselaer Co., NY. This could be David & Susan's family. Schodack was part of Rensselaerwyck prior to 1795.
