    Notes:

The birth record identifies David as son of Joseph & Mary.

In the 1850 Federal Census, David & Abigail Munro are ages 67 & 59, both b RI. They are living at Bristol, RI. With them is George H. Munro, 21. They are near Jonathan & Elizabeth.

In the 1860 Federal Census, David & Abbey Munro are still at Bristol. He is 77 and she is 70.

  1. 4.  Joseph MUNROE was born 12 Mar 1762, Bristol, RI (son of Nathan MUNROE and Sarah KINNECUTT); died 26 Apr 1849, Bristol, RI.

    Notes:

At the time of his marriage, Joseph was of Bristol.

He was a private and seaman from RI in the Revolutionary War. (source: RI Gen. Regis. Vol. 19 p. 280)

I have roughly estimated the birth years of some of Joseph & Mary's children.

According to the death record at Bristol, Joseph, a Revolutionary Pensioner, died at age 89. (Deaths Vol. 4 p. 112)

Joseph's will mentions the following family members: sons Nathan, Caleb, David, Bosworth H., & Joseph Jr.; daughters Abby Bunn w/o Lemuel Bunn, Christiana Handy, & Sally Munroe; and daughter-in-law Nancy Munroe.

Joseph married Mary EDDY 29 Aug 1784, Bristol, RI. Mary (daughter of Joseph EDDY, Jr. and Lydia JOLLS) was born Between 1764 and 1768, Warren, RI; died 27 Dec 1831, Bristol, RI. [Group Sheet]

  2. 5.  Mary EDDY was born Between 1764 and 1768, Warren, RI (daughter of Joseph EDDY, Jr. and Lydia JOLLS); died 27 Dec 1831, Bristol, RI.

    Notes:

At the time of her marriage, Mary Eddy was of Warren, so I have made an assumption that she was born there.

I also have made an assumption that she was d/o Joseph & Lydia (Jolls) Eddy. This needs more research to confirm.

Generation: 4

  1. 8.  Nathan MUNROE was born 3 Oct 1730, Bristol, RI (son of Joseph MUNROE and Mary BOWERMAN); died 12 Jun 1801, Bristol, RI.

    Notes:

The RI Genealogical Register, Vol. 19, p. 279 & 280, says that Nathan Munro b 29 Sep 1730 Br, son of John & Hannah, is the one who married Sarah Kinnecut. However, a genealogy at Rootsweb has Sarah's husband as Nathan b 3 Oct 1730, son of Joseph & Mary (Bowerman) Munro. This birth is not in the VRs so I have not been able to verify it. Another online genealogy has Nathan, son of John & Hannah, marrying Hannah Allen rather than Sarah. Apparently there were two Nathans born around the same time.

From Bristol VRs: The Nathan Munro who married Mrs. Hannah Allen was "of Bristol." The one who married Mrs. Elizabeth Kinnecutt four years later was "of Warren." They both were married at Bristol by Rev. John Burt. And, another Nathan Munroe married Mrs. Catherine Bragg in 1756 at Bristol, by the same minister. No wonder all these Nathan Munros are confused by genealogists!

Did he died in 1793 or 1801?
MUNRO Capt. Nathan, Jr., Sept. 7, 1793, Br.
MUNRO Capt. Nathan, June 12, 1801, Br.

Nathan married Sarah KINNECUTT 25 May 1755, Bristol, RI. Sarah (daughter of Thomas KINNECUTT, Jr. and Sarah BOSWORTH) was born 27 Feb 1732/33. [Group Sheet]

  2. 9.  Sarah KINNECUTT was born 27 Feb 1732/33 (daughter of Thomas KINNECUTT, Jr. and Sarah BOSWORTH).

    Notes:

The marriage record gives her name as Mrs. Elizabeth Kinnecutt, but she must have been Sarah because the births of their children give her name as Sarah.

1755 MUNRO, Nathan, of Warren, and Mrs. Elizabeth Kinnecutt, of Bristol; m. by Rev. John Burt, May 25, 1755. Vol. 1 p. 74 Marriage Bristol

  3. 10.  Joseph EDDY, Jr. was born 24 Feb 1729/30, Warren, RI (son of Joseph EDDY, Sr. and Mary Unknown).

    Notes:

At the time of his marriage, Joseph was of Warren, so I have made an assumption that he was born there.

I have also made an assumption that the Joseph Eddy, b 24 Feb 1729 at Warren to Joseph & Mary, is the same Joseph of Warren who married Lydia Jolls.

The above assumptions are reasonable, but need further research to confirm.

I am not sure if he was born in 1728/29 or 1729/30; consequently, I have opted for the 1729/30 date.

Joseph married Lydia JOLLS 13 Jun 1756, Warren, RI. Lydia (daughter of Thomas JOLLS and Mehitable Unknown) was born 1 Mar 1738/39, Bristol, RI. [Group Sheet]

  4. 11.  Lydia JOLLS was born 1 Mar 1738/39, Bristol, RI (daughter of Thomas JOLLS and Mehitable Unknown).

    Notes:

At the time of her marriage, Lydia was "of Bristol," so I have made an assumption that she was born there, and is the d/o Thomas & Mehitable Jolls; birth recorded as 1 Mar 1738/9 Br. (needs more research to confirm)

    Notes:
