  1. 1.  Allen Kettelle was born Abt 1824, RI (son of Mercy Kettelle).

    Notes:

    Allen's father was Sylvester Johnson, who was engaged to Mercy. However, he and Mercy quarreled and they never married. Allen went to PA with his mother, uncle, and grandparents around 1830.     In the 1850 Federal Census, Allen and Eunice, ages 26 RI & 21 NY, are living at Abington, Luzerne Co., PA. They have a son Stephen, age 2 months. Also in the same town are Allen's grandparents, Silas & Margaret, as well as his mother Mercy and uncle Green. The family is listed next to Henry Gardner and family (another RI individual).

    Allen married Eunice Unknown Abt 1849. Eunice was born Abt 1829, NY. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    Notes:

    In the 1830s, Silas and Margaret went with their son Greene, daughter Mercy, and her son Allen, to Clarksville, PA.

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Silas and Margaret, ages 82 and 80, are living at Abington, Luzerne Co., PA, with Green and Mercy.

    Silas married Margaret Tarbox Abt 1793. Margaret (daughter of Samuel Tarbox and Lois Matteson) was born Abt 1770, East Greenwich, RI; died Aft 1850, Clarkeville, PA. [Group Sheet]
