    Notes:

    Brintha must have been married at least twice. In the 1870 census she is Brintha Letson, living with her widowed father and two siblings at Oswego, NY. Her burial info (online) has her surname as German.

    Notes:

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Oliver & Sarah F. Morgan are living at Scriba, Oswego Co., NY. They have five children -- some names are not legible. In 1860 the family is still there, and there are seven children, but the names do not agree. By 1870 Sarah is gone and Oliver as a widower is living in Oswego with three of his children.

    Oliver married Sarah F. Remington Abt 1838. Sarah (daughter of Isaac Remington and Huldah Doty) was born Abt 1817, VT; died Between 1860 and 1870. [Group Sheet]

  1. 6.  Isaac Remington was born 1 Mar 1787, Wallingford, Rutland Co., VT (son of Jonathan Remington and Martha Sprague); died Aft 1 Jun 1850.

    Notes:

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Isaac is age 62, living at Oswego, Oswego Co., NY. With him is son Solomon and his family, as well as Huldah & Joseph, probably two more of his children. Living two doors down are Nathan & Rhoda Remington; I am making an assumption that Nathan is another son in this family.

    Pat Boyden's genealogy has Isaac's date of death as 11 Nov 1860. However, I have not been able to locate him anywhere in the 1860 census. (This needs more research to confirm.)

    Isaac & Huldah also may have had two additional daughters, named Sarah & Betsy (per notes sent by Charles Norman Hill).

    Follow-up to above note: I have found a couple in the 1850 census, named Oliver & Sarah Morgan. From her daughter Brintha's gravestone inscription, I know that Sarah's maiden name is Remington. Therefore, I am including Sarah as a daughter in this family group (needs further research to confirm).

    One Doty genealogy says Huldah was born in 1787.

  1. 12.  Jonathan Remington was born 1 Sep 1761, Abington, Plymouth Co., MA (son of Joshua (2) Remington, II and Ruth Clay); died 19 Apr 1833.

    Notes:

    Jonathan served in the Revolution from MA & VT. He enlisted at Cummington, MA.

    His marriage to Martha was obtained from Rootsweb's Worldconnect, so needs verification to determine that it is the same Jonathan Remington. That genealogy lists 11 children for this couple. Other family notes I have seen agree.

    I could not find his birth record at Abington, but Lois Remington Smith lists Jonathan with the children of Joshua & Ruth.

    However, some genealogies have this Jonathan as a son of Thomas Remington b 1726 and his wife Rachel Stowell.

    Also, others show his birthplace as Cummington, Hampshire Co., MA, and his death as c 1840 at Wallingford, VT.

    The Federal Census of 1830 at Wallingford, Rutland Co., VT lists a Jonathan Rimmington and a Jonathan Rimmington Jr. The household of the former includes 1 male age 70<80, 1 female 50>60; and three other females -- 1-40<50, 1-10<15, & 1-15<20.

    In 1833 when he appeared for his pension hearing, he said he had lived in Wallingford for 51 years (since 1782).

    The last pension payment was made 12 Sep 1834 (to his wife?).

    Jonathan married Martha Sprague Abt 1786. Martha (daughter of Joseph Sprague and Mary Thompson) was born Abt 1765, Danby, Rutland, VT; died Abt Sep 1834. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    According to the gravestone, "Jerahmeel Doty" died at age 93 (from photo on website of Norman Charles Hill). He was in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.

    He appears to be age 86 in the 1850 census (Jerathmun Doty).
