In the Federal Census of 1900, Ira and Emma are living at Comstock, Douglas Co., OR. They have three daughters -- Mattie E., Minnie, & Irene. They are living next to Ira's married sister Minnie Stewart and family, including Ira & Minnie's widowed mother Polly Remington.

In 1910 the family is at Pass Creek, Douglas Co., OR; there are four children in the home.

Ira married Edith Emma Livingston 20 May 1896, Grant, OR. Edith was born 15 Apr 1879, Melrose, Douglas Co., OR. [Group Sheet]

In the Federal Census of 1920 Emma Remington is 40 and divorced, living with her mother Martha E. Livingston. Also in the household are Emma's married daughter Georgia and her family, as well as Emma's son Hiram L. Remington.

In the Federal Census of 1850, he may be the Reuben Remington age 25 VT (b c1825) living at Danby, Rutland Co., VT. He appears to be single and a farmer.

In the Federal Census of 1860, He is probably the "Rueben" Remington age 33 VT (b c1827) living at Little York, Nevada, CA. He is working as a miner.

In 1870 he is likely Rubin Remington listed at Shelby, Blue Earth Co., MN. Little identifying information is given, other than acreage and agricultural information.

In 1880 he is likely R. B. Remington age 53 VT (b c1827, both parents b VT) living at Pass Creek, Douglas Co., OR. Besides R. B. or Reuben, in the household are: P. A. 35 NY (both parents b VT), Minnie 14 MN, Ora P. 12 MN, Ida May 9 MN, & Rosalpha 5 NY.

Reuben as a son of Reuben & Elizabeth is included here based on a family tree by "Cyndee" at Rootsweb's Worldconnect. Some information on Reuben's descendants comes from Cyndee's family tree, also. Reuben married Polly Ann Kelley 30 Sep 1863, MN. Polly was born 30 Dec 1844, NY; died 11 Mar 1933, Douglas, OR. [Group Sheet]

In the Federal Census of 1900, Polly Remington is a widow age 57 NY, living at Comstock, Douglas Co., OR. She is with married daughter Minnie Stewart and her family. Also in the household is Minnie's mother-in-law Eliza J. Stewart, and Polly's daughter Eva R. Remington 15 OR. They are listed next to Ira Remington and family.

In 1910 Polly Remington is living with married daughter Eva Cooley and family at Pass Creek, Douglas Co., OR.

Important note: I am not sure that this is the Reuben Remington who married Elizabeth and is listed in the censuses cited below. However, I am placing the family information here as a tentative possibility, subject to change if information becomes available on a different but concurrent Reuben Remington.

In the Federal Census of 1830, a Reubin Remington is listed at Wallingford, Rutland Co., VT. The household consists of: 2 males <5, 1 male 30<40, 1 female 5<10, & 1 female 30<40. He is listed next to Benjamin Remington age 50<60 (who is he?).

In the Federal Census of 1840, Reuben Remington is listed as living at Dickinson, Franklin Co., NY. The household consists of: 1 male <5, 2 males 10<15, 1 male 40<50, 1 female <5, 2 females 5<10, & 1 female 40<50.

In the Federal Census of 1850, a Reuben Remington 51 (England) is listed as living at Diana, Lewis Co., NY. His wife is Elizabeth 52 (England). Their children are: Harriett 14 NY, Harvey 11 NY, & Michael 8 NY. They are living near other Remingtons in the town.

In the Federal Census of 1860, Reuben 61 VT & Elizabeth 60 MA are living at Dickinson, Franklin Co., NY. One son, Harley E. 20 NY, is living with them.

Several family trees at Rootsweb's Worldconnect have Elizabeth's maiden name as Kelly or Kelley. A tree by "Cyndee" lists a son Reuben for this couple, born 19 Apr 1827 in Rutland, VT. Another tree by Jacqueline Ann Richardson includes a daughter Lucetta, born 26 Sep 1824 in Danby, Rutland Co.,VT. Robert Pero's tree includes a son Obadiah born 2 Sep 1829. I have included these three children in the family group (needs more research to confirm).

Reuben married Elizabeth Kelley Abt 1822. Elizabeth was born Between 1798 and 1800, MA; died Aft 1 Jun 1860, NY. [Group Sheet]
