In the Federal Census of 1920, the family is at Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA: Henry F. 38, Millie A. 33, Roger W. 8, Robert H. 1 and 9/12, Maxine Remington 8 (foster sister); all born IA.

In the Federal Census of 1930, Henry F. and Millie A. Renning, ages 48 & 43, are still living at Shell Rock. With them are Roger W. 18, Robert H. 12, and Dorothy E. 9 (all b IA). Roger is also listed as living with his brother Clinton C. Renning in this census.

Henry married Millie Addie Remington Abt 1915. Millie (daughter of Sanford Warren Remington and Dora Augusta Ames) was born 6 Nov 1886, Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA; died Aft 1 Apr 1930. [Group Sheet]

In the 1900 Federal Census, Sanford W. Remington is age 56, b MA, living at Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA. His wife Dora A. is 43, b IL. They have three chidren: Wilber G. 18 IL, Charles A. 16 IL, & Millie A. 13 IA.

In 1910, the family of five is still together at Shell Rock.

In 1920, S. W. Remington is age 76, still living at Shell Rock, IA. With him is son Charles A., 35. Married daughter Millie is listed on the same census page as wife of Henry F. Renning. Sanford's brother Herbert is at Cedar Falls, IA.

Sanford married Dora Augusta Ames 23 Jun 1880, Bloomington, McLean Co., IL. Dora was born 2 Dec 1856, Triumph, LaSalle Co., IL; died 30 Sep 1915, Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA; was buried , Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA. [Group Sheet]

In 1900 Charles & Christina are still there, ages 69 & 66. They have been married for 44 yrs and have 5 children. According to census data, they immigrated in 1856, which would be the year they married.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Charles & Mary are living at Northbridge, Worcester Co., MA, with their three children. They are next door to Benedict & Mary. In 1880 they are living in Geneseo, Henry Co., Illinois. With them is granddaughter Jennie M. Remington, age 8, born in Illinois.

In the 1900 Federal Census, Charles & Mary are living at Shell Rock, Butler Co., IA. He is 79 and she is 80. According to the census data, she has had 4 children, and three are still living.

Charles's birth in Mendon, MA, was recorded in Northbridge, MA, VRs.

Charles married Mary Ann Scarborough Nov 1841, Northbridge, MA. Mary was born Sep 1819, CT; died Aft 1 Jun 1900. [Group Sheet]
