    Notes:

    When his parents died in 1918, Benjamin went to live with his paternal grandparents on Broad St. in Providence.

    In the 1935 RI Census, Benjamin and family were living at 55 Pleasant St., Pawtucket, RI.

    In 1940, the family is on Lafayette St., Pawtucket: Benjamin 37, May R. 35, Russel F. 6, and Kenneth R. 4.

    Notes:

    According to descendant Russell Shaw, for a while this family lived on Chapin St. in Providence. Arthur & Mary died of the flu in 1918.

    In the 1910 Federal Census, Arthur L. & Adelaide M. Shaw, ages 27 & 22, are boarding at 131 Willard Ave., Ward 5, Providence, RI. With them is son Benjamin F., age 3. According to the census data, Arthur's parents were both born in Canada; also, Arthur & Adelaide have been married for 3 years; and, Adelaide has had three children, one of whom is still living. It appears from RI death records that she had two children born after this time who also died.

    Arthur married Mary Adelaide Remington 26 Jan 1906, Pawtucket, RI. Mary (daughter of Benjamin Franklin Remington and Jenny Wilson) was born 20 Nov 1887, Coventry, RI; died 24 Oct 1918, RI. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    Mary & Arthur died of the flu in 1918.

    A notation in the Mary E. Rice Collection says "Mary Adeline" was born in Warwick, RI. In the Federal Census of 1900, she is called Addie, and is age 12.
