According to the 1900 census data, both of Mary's parents were born in Ireland.

Mary married Harry Austin Records Abt 1892. Harry (son of Loring C. Records and Mary L. Jackson) was born Jul 1866, ME; died Aft 1 Jan 1920. [Group Sheet]

1. Lawrence Austin Records was born Aug 1897, MA; died 22 Sep 1967; was buried , Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
2. Ruth Lawrence Records was born 6 Jun 1905, Brockton, MA.

Notes:

In the 1880 census the family is at Shelter Island, Suffolk, New York. there are five children in the family. Also there is Thomas Donahue, borther-in-law.

I have made an assumption that this is the family of Mary W. Peden who is the mother of Lawrence Austin Records. The 1900 census says both her parents were born in Ireland, and this agrees. The middle initial of W also agrees.

Thomas — Ellen Donahue. Ellen was born Abt 1840, Ireland. [Group Sheet]

I have made an assumption that Ellen's maiden name is Donahue, because in the 1880 census there is a brother-in-law Thomas Donahue living with the Peden family.
