  1. 1.  Margaret G. Kettelle was born Mar 1845, Exeter, RI (daughter of Samuel S. Kettelle and Hannah Wells); died 16 May 1923; was buried , Woodland Cemetery, Coventry, RI.

Margaret — William Sweet. William was born Feb 1839, RI. [Group Sheet]

Generation: 2

  1. 2.  Samuel S. Kettelle was born Abt 1817 (son of Simon Kettelle and Susan Unknown).

    Notes:

I have estimated his year of birth. He may be the Samuel S. Kettelle/Kettle who was born in 1817 at Exeter, son of Simeon & Susan, and who died a widower 1 July 1900 SK (see RIVR, NS, Vol. 9. p. 34).

His father is identified as Simon Kettle in the marriage record at South Kingstown.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Samuel S. Kettle is 33 and Hannah is 40. They are living at Warwick, Kent Co., RI. With them are their two children, John B. F. 7, and Margaret G. 5.

Samuel married Hannah Wells 11 Jun 1843, South Kingstown, RI. Hannah (daughter of John Wells) was born Abt 1810. [Group Sheet]

  2. 3.  Hannah Wells was born Abt 1810 (daughter of John Wells).

    Notes:

I have estimated Hannah's year of birth based on the marriage date.

    Notes:

The marriage record gives the names of the two fathers, Simon Kettle & John Wells.

    Children:
    1. John B. F. Kettelle was born Abt 1843, South Kingstown, RI; died 27 Sep 1888, Foster, RI.
    2. 1. Margaret G. Kettelle was born Mar 1845, Exeter, RI; died 16 May 1923; was buried , Woodland Cemetery, Coventry, RI.

Generation: 3

  1. 4.  Simon Kettelle

    Notes:

His name is given as Simon Kettle in the marriage record of his son, Samuel S., at South Kingstown. However, there is a Simeon Kettelle who married a Susan (Unknown), and had a son Samuel S. b. 1817 at Exeter. Very possibly Simeon is actually this Simon, as the dates seem to fit the correct time frame.

To complicate this, there was also a Seneca & Susan Kettelle who had a son named Samuel born in 1816 at West Greenwich.

The RI Cemetery Database shows a Susan Kittle 1792-17 Dec 1874 buried in WG 103. This is the Seneca Kittle Lot on Burnt Sawmill Rd. I need to research these individuals.

It appears that Simon/Simeon & Susan Kettelle, and Seneca & Susan Kettelle, were two couples living at the same time in the same general area, and both had sons named Samuel born about a year apart. (needs more research)
