1. Joseph M. Cornell was born 1800; died 1 May 1879; was buried , Woodland Cemetery, Knotty Oak Rd., Coventry, RI.

Notes:

Joseph was in the Revolutionary War.

I am making an assumption that Ensign Joseph Cornell, whose grave is in the Cornell-Briggs Lot in East Greenwich, is the father of Mary Martin (Cornell) Briggs, also buried there.

Joseph had one child with his first wife, Sarah Potter, and nine children with his second, Ruth Baker. (note from Violet Kettelle in RI Cemetery Database)

Notes:

Based on the names of his children as mentioned in his will, and also the location of his burial, I am making an assumption that Richard is father of Joseph Cornell. This makes sense because Richard's wife was Mary Martin, and Joseph had a daughter named Mary Martin Cornell.
