    Edmund's first wife was Celestine G. Wilson. They were married 22 Aug 1853 at Fall River. Celestine died in 1861.

    Edmund's parents are Samuel V. & Olive.

    Edmund married Rhoda B. Elsbree 22 Dec 1862, Fall River, Bristol Co., RI. Rhoda (daughter of Henry Elsbree and Mary H. Davis) was born Abt 1835, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; died 7 Jul 1919; was buried , Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, MA. [Group Sheet]

  1. 6.  Henry Elsbree was born 10 Apr 1802, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA (son of Joshua ELSBREE and Rhoda BRIGHTMAN); died 24 Jan 1882, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; was buried , North Burial Ground, Fall River, MA.

    Notes:

    I have made an assumption that Henry Ellsbree, age 48 in the 1850 Federal Census, belongs in this family group. His profession is a stone cutter, the same as Benjamin's. Also, the names of his children, particularly Rhoda B., suggest that he belongs to this family.

    In 1850 Henry is married to Mary H., age 43. They have seven children in the household: Mary H. 22, Alvada T. 17, Rhoda B. 15, Henrietta M. 10, Amanda J. C. 8, Henry H. 5, & Susan A. C. 2, all b MA. I am assuming these are all children of Henry & Mary.

    In 1860 the family is still at Fall River: Henry 58, Mary H. 53, Alzada T. 27, Rhoda B. 25, Henrietta M. 20, Amanda J. C. 18, Henry H. 15, & Susan A. C. 12.

    In 1870 Henry & Mary H. are 68 & 64. With them are Alzada T. 36 & Henry H. 25.

    In 1880 the family is still at Fall River, and consists of Henry 78, Mary H. 73, Alzadie T. 47, & Henry H 35. Next door is daughter Rhoda B. Bliffins, 45, and her children: Marietta, Edmond, Charles, & Susan.

    Henry married Mary H. Davis Abt 1827. Mary was born Jun 1806, MA; died 1892, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; was buried , North Burial Ground, Fall River, MA. [Group Sheet]

  1. 12.  Joshua ELSBREE was born 6 Apr 1775, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA (son of Boomer ELSBREE and Hannah LUTHER); died 7 May 1839, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; was buried , North Burial Ground, Fall River, MA.

    Notes:

    The 1840 Federal Census at Troy (Fall River), Bristol Co., MA, has a listing for Joshua Elsbree. This may be our ancestor, although the age may be a bit off; I have estimated both his birth year and death year. The household in 1840 consists of: 1 M 15<20, 1 M 20<30, 1 M 50<60, 1 F 15<20, and 1 F 50<60. Joshua is listed next to Ephraim Boomer.

    However, "The Luther Genealogy" p. 279 says Joshua died/was bur 7 May 1839. This appears to be confirmed by his gravestone in North Burial Ground, Fall River.

    Joshua married Rhoda BRIGHTMAN 16 Mar 1800, Freetown, Bristol Co., MA. Rhoda (daughter of Henry BRIGHTMAN and Mary READ) was born 2 Jul 1774, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; died 24 Aug 1854, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; was buried , North Burial Ground, Fall River, MA. [Group Sheet]


  2. 13.  Rhoda BRIGHTMAN was born 2 Jul 1774, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA (daughter of Henry BRIGHTMAN and Mary READ); died 24 Aug 1854, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA; was buried , North Burial Ground, Fall River, MA.

    Notes:

    In the 1850 Federal Census, Rhoda (Brightman) Ellsbree is age 77, living at Fall River, MA, with Samuel R. Brightman and family. This could be her nephew or son-in-law. There are several other Brightman families nearby.

    Rhoda Elsbree died at Fall River on 24 Aug 1854 at age 81 y 1 m. She died of "old age." The death record identifies her parents as "Henry & Maria," no other surname or maiden name given (Fall River Vol.84: Pg.67). I found Rhoda's maiden name on several trees at Rootsweb's Worldconnect.

    Her gravestone says she died on 23 Aug 1854.

    Notes:

    At the time of their marriage, Joshua & Rhoda were both of Freetown.
