Notes:

In the 1850 Federal Census, Levi Manchester is age 20, living at Tiverton, RI, with his maternal grandparents George & Sarah Durfee, and other family members.

In the 1870 Federal Census, Levi & Amy A. Manchester are ages 38 & 35, living at Tiverton, RI, with John & Mary, Levi's father and stepmother. Also in the household are three children: Isaac F., Jessie A., & Arthur. (In 1880 Arthur is Martha, but in 1900 he is Arthur again.)

In 1880 Levi, age 48, is married to Isabella, age 42, b Scotland. They have four children in the home: Jessie May, Martha, Ida Isabel, & Roland.

In the 1900 census, Levi's birth date is given as Mar 1830, and he is age 70. Isabella is 62. With them are Ida B. & Rowland L. Also in the household is Arthur, age 30, his wife Grace, 26, and their son Arthur W., 2.

Levi married Amy A. Simmons Abt 1854. Amy was born Abt 1835, RI; died Between 1 Jun 1870 and 1875. [Group Sheet]

Isaac died at age 73.

In the 1850 Federal Census, Isaac is 50 and his (second) wife Mary is 53. They are living at Tiverton, RI. Two children are in the household: Isaac 15 and Mary 10. Also with them is Mary Pearce aged 96 (possibly Isaac's mother-in-law), and 7 other individuals.

The family is still at Tiverton in 1860: John 60, Mary 64, Isaac C. 25, and Mary P. 20.

In 1870, Isaac and Mary, ages 70 & 74, are still at Tiverton. With them are Levi and Amy A. Manchester and their three children, as well as two other individuals.

I have included Isaac in this family group for three reasons: his death record identifies his parents as John & Mary; William named a son Isaac; and, Glenn Russell's family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect lists Isaac here.

Additionally, John Redfern's research shows that Isaac and Freelove are brother and sister, as they are buried near each other. Also, they both became church members on 22 Oct 1820 at Tiverton (see James N. Arnold's published church records).

Isaac married Mary Durfee Abt 1828. Mary (daughter of George Durfee and Sarah Coggeshall) was born 19 Feb 1805; died 3 Mar 1831. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

According to John's Revolutionary War Pension File, both he and Mary were born in Tiverton, and knew each other from their youth.

I have roughly estimated his year of birth. At present it is unclear which family group this John Manchester belongs to. He may be a son of Isaac Manchester and Hannah Cundall, since the name Isaac is found several times in subsequent generations.

Or, could he be a son of John & Lidia who were married 13 May 1749 at Tiverton?

Glenn Russell's family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect lists 8 children for this couple, but I am including only 5 of them at this point. This family needs more research.

Notes:

Mary's maiden name is identified in the Revolutionary War Pension file of her husband John Manchester (#W21752).

She is most likely related to Elizabeth Fish, who married Benjamin Hambly, possibly a sister or a cousin.

According to the private journal of Elder Peleg Burroughs of Tiverton, a Minister of the Gospel, "on the 8th day of September A. D. 1780 -- Preached at B. Hambly's upon Psalm 107:31 (O that men would praise xc) married John Manchester to M.F. and stayed all night at Bro. Davenports."

Benjamin Hambly's wife was Elizabeth Fish, probably related to Mary (needs more research).

George married Sarah Coggeshall Abt 1793. Sarah (daughter of John Coggeshall and Elizabeth Stafford) was born 18 Aug 1774. [Group Sheet]
