    Notes:

    I have made an assumption that Andrew was born in Whiteside Co., IL, because that is where his parents were living in the 1850 census.

    In the Federal Census of 1860, Andrew J. Remington, age 10 IL, is living with his uncle N.C. & Mary Remington, and six cousins, in North East Township, Erie Co., PA.

    In the Federal Census of 1880, Andrew & Ida Remington, ages 30 & 23, are living at Springfield, Erie Co., PA.

    In the Federal Census of 1900, Andrew & Ida E. Remington are living at Fairfax, Osage Co., KS. They have two children: Noble C. 14, & Nettie R. 3.

    In 1910 the family is still at Fairfax.

    According to the census data, they were married about 1876/77, and have had 4 children, two of whom are still living.

    Andrew married Ida E. Unknown Abt 1877. Ida was born 1856, IL; died 1935, KS; was buried , Carbondale Cemetery, Osage Co., KS. [Group Sheet]

    Notes:

    In the Federal Census of 1850, Johnathan & Julia Remington, both age 30 PA, are living in District 37, Whiteside Co., IL. Johnathan is a carpenter. Also in the household with him and Julia is William S. Boardman, 28 NY, a farmer.

    Seth & Asenath left CT and went to Ashtabula County, Ohio, in 1812, and later to Springfield Township.

    Seth married Asenath Bisbee 8 Apr 1809. Asenath (daughter of Jotham Bisbee and Lucy Curtis) was born 10 Oct 1780. [Group Sheet]

    Asenath's family was of "Erie, PA."

    3. Amos Remington was born 1 Oct 1816, Ashtabula Co., OH; died 12 May 1896.
    4. 2. Jonathan Remington was born Abt 1820, PA; died Aft 1 Jun 1850.

  1. 8.  Amos (2) Remington was born 16 Jan 1746/47, Suffield, Hartford Co., CT (son of Jonathan Remington, II and Thankful Warner); died Abt 1846.

    Notes:

    There is an Amos Remington in the 1790 Federal Census at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT: 3 FWM<16, 1 FWM>16, 4 FWF. This implies that there were three sons and three daughters in the household.

    He may be the Amos Remington who married Julette Tower (both of Worthington, MA) on 23 Oct 1807 (in VRs of Cummington, MA).

    He may also be the Amos Remington (of Chesterfield, MA) who married Sally Pettingill (of Cummington, MA), int. filed at Cummington 11 Nov 1811.

    According to a family tree at Rootsweb, Julette was born c 1783, which would make her the age to be Amos's daughter. Perhaps Amos had a son named Amos, Jr. (?).

    Amos married Lucy Fowler Dec 1779. Lucy was born 1 Sep 1758, Westfield, Hampden Co., MA; died 2 Aug 1791, Southwick, MA. [Group Sheet]
