    Notes:

    According to Boyd Scott Remington's ancestry chart, Zadock was a Lieutenant in the Revolution. One of the earliest settlers of Castleton, VT, he ran a tavern there after 1771; it was a famous meeting place of the Green Mountain patriots. Zadock Remington is listed in the 1790 Federal Census at Castleton, Rutland Co., VT.

    After the formation of the town of Castleton in March 1777, Zadock Remington was the first representative. In the town history he is also mentioned as a lister and a grand juror.

    Zadock's dwelling, the first frame house built in Castleton, VT, was located about a half mile west of the village. For many years it was the largest one in town.

    His brother David was arrested and banished for aiding the British during their campaign in VT.

    In the Federal Census of 1790, Zadock Remington is listed for Castleton, Rutland, VT; also in 1810.

    Zadock died at about age 93.

    Mrs. Susannah (Kendall) (Remington) (Kingsley) Bush married as her fourth husband Daniel Remington of Suffield, CT (marriage intention 14 July 1770 at Becket, MA). He may have been the Daniel Remington b18 Feb 1705/06, husband of Sarah Winchell. It may be that Sarah died and then Daniel married Susannah. This particular Daniel (who had married Sarah Winchell) was second cousin to Joseph, Susannah's first husband.
