    In the Federal Census of 1900, William L. Remington, age 31, is living at Barton, Newaygo Co., MI. He is a grocer.

    In the Federal Census of 1910, William & Mamie are living at Barton. They have five children. Nearby is William's brother Claud and family.

    In the Federal Census of 1920, the family is still at Barton. Their five children are still in the household. It is unclear whether the youngest child, Reo age 8, is the same child as the infant in the previous census (the age may be off). However, if the age is correct, the youngest child must have died and Reo was born later.

    In the Federal Census of 1930, William & Mamie are still at Barton, Youngest son Reo, age 19, is with them.

    In the Federal Census of 1900, William & Emily are living at Chase, Lake Co., MI.

    According to his death certificate, William was a retired farmer and died of stomach cancer. It identifies his father as William Remington, born NY, and unknown mother, born Canada. Informant was his son William L. Remington.

    Notes:

    I was not sure if William belonged in this family group, but Nancy Olejniczak provided information that confirmed it as fact, including date of death and name of father in the death record. Email message dated 20 Oct 2017 from Nancy Olejniczak: "In your tree there is a William Remington, suspected son of Stephen Remington. I just located a Michigan Death record for him on Family Search which gives his father's name as Stephen Remington."

    One family tree has his name as William T. Remington, born 21 Aug 1821, Onondaga Co., NY.

    The death record at Hersey, Osceola, MI says he died in NY, a widower age 71.

    In the Federal Census of 1850, William & Caroline, ages 29 & 24, are living at Geddes, Onondaga Co., NY. They have three young children. In the same town are Stephen & Jane Remington.

    In the Federal Census of 1860, William is at Camillus, Onondaga Co., NY. His wife is named Elizabeth -- not Caroline -- but she is still from PA and with approximately the same birth year as Caroline in the previous census. Perhaps she goes by both names. Or, she could be a second wife. Their ages are given as 37 & 37. They have six children.

    In 1870 they are at Lysander, Onondaga Co., NY. William is 52 and Elizabeth is 48. There are two children in the household, Francis 17 and George M. 7.

    William married Caroline Elizabeth Stocker Abt 1843, NY. Caroline (daughter of Benjamin Stocker) was born Abt 1826, PA; died 11 Apr 1888. [Group Sheet]
