Philip married Sarah Pearce 7 Jan 1767, Little Compton, Newport Co., RI. Sarah (daughter of Giles Pearce and Marcy Seabury) was born 22 Apr 1748, Little Compton, Newport Co., RI. [Group Sheet]

2. Cornelius Seabury was born 2 May 1769, Tiverton, Newport Co., RI; died 1 Sep 1854; was buried , Congregational Cemetery, Lake Rd., Tiverton, RI.
3. George Seabury was born 27 Jul 1771, Tiverton, Newport Co., RI; died 7 Nov 1822; was buried , George Seabury Lot, Sakonnet Rd., Tiverton, RI.
4. Pearce Seabury was born 7 Jan 1773, Tiverton, Newport Co., RI; died 1 Jul 1850, Providence, Providence Co., RI.
5. Mary "Patty" Seabury was born 6 Apr 1777, Tiverton, Newport Co., RI; died 22 Jan 1861, Tiverton, Newport Co., RI.

Notes:

The will of Sion Seabury, dated 21 Sep 1793 and proved 15 Aug 1801 at Tiverton, RI, mentions his (assumed second) wife Dorcas (and the possessions she brought when she married him); also mentions sons Aaron, Philip, & Joseph; daughters Dorcas (w/o Abner Sowle) and Alice (single); grandchildren John, Peleg, David, Cornelius, Peirce, George, Job, and Mary.

I am not sure when Sion's first wife died and when he married Dorcas; consequently I am not sure if daughter Dorcas is from his first or second marriage. This needs more research. For the time being I have placed the daughter Dorcas as from a second marriage, with the assumption that Anna died shortly after their fourth child was born.

Sion married Anna Butts 17 May 1733, Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI. Anna (daughter of Moses Butts and Alice Lake) was born 28 Mar 1709, Little Compton, Newport Co., RI; died Between Jan 1747/48 and Sep 1793. [Group Sheet]

Joseph and his second wife, Mary, recorded the births of seven children at Tiverton: Phebe, Hannah, Gideon, John, Betty, Sarah, & Ichabod.

Some genealogies have her maiden name is Fobes. The marriage record says Smith, but she may have been a widow. This needs more research to confirm.

Moses & Alice were first cousins, his mother, Elizabeth, and her father, Thomas, being siblings. Moses & Alice and family lived at Little Compton.

Moses married Alice Lake Abt 1699. Alice (daughter of Thomas Lake and Sarah Post) was born 6 Dec 1677, Dartmouth, MA; died 3 Jul 1739. [Group Sheet]

Samuel married Martha PABODIE 4 Apr 1677. Martha (daughter of William PABODIE and Elizabeth ALDEN) was born 24 Feb 1650/51, Duxbury, Plymouth Co., MA; died 25 Jan 1711/12, Little Compton, RI. [Group Sheet]

In her father's will, Martha is mentioned as one of ten "naturell daughters" (as distinguished from daughters- in-law).

Thomas emigrated from Norfolk, England by 1662 to Portsmouth where he bought four acres from Richad Hart 16 Nov 1662. On 1 Oct 1666 he bought from Richard Bulgar two acres in Portsmouth for a cow and 10 s in wampum. On 20 Nov 1668 he deeded William Earle seven acres, and he bought from Richard Earle, of Dartmouth, a quarter of a purchaser's share of meadow, an eigth share of upland, etc. in Dartmouth. On 31 Oct 1682, in Little Compton, he and James Case were sent for, to be at the next court to give reason of their being and continuance at Punckateest without liberty to do so first obtained from the government. On 27 Oct 1685 Thomas was granted a division of land in Dartmouth, purchased of Woosamequin and Wamsutta.

The name Thomas Butts first appears in Plymouth Co. records on 16 Nov 1662. There may also have been a Thomas Butts in Salem in 1652. His name is later found in several town records, including land transactions, in the years 1665, 1666, 1668, 1682, 1685, & 1696, in the towns of Portsmouth, Dartmouth, & Little Compton. He was admitted a freeman at Portsmouth 9 May 1660 (town records). In 1679 he was chosen surveyor of cattle. His will, dated 28 Dec 1702, was entered at Little Compton and proved 2 Feb 1703. It mentions his wife Elizabeth.

Thomas married Elizabeth Lake Abt 1664. Elizabeth (daughter of Henry LAKE and Alice Unknown) was born Abt 1641; died Aft 20 Jun 1709, Little Compton, RI. [Group Sheet]
