William named a son Thomas:
BROWNELL Thomas, of William and Sarah, May 25, 1674, LC.

A family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect shows his parents as Thomas and Ann (Bourne) Brownell. This seems to agree with some of the rather fragmented birth notes I found referring to a couple Thomas & Ann, and some births for children surnamed Brownell.

William married Sarah Smiton 1672, Little Compton, RI. [Group Sheet]
