Notes:

Deacon Thomas & Lucy Ann Hill were members of the Quidnessett Baptist Church, North Kingstown, RI. This was established 1 June 1828 as a branch of the First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, and the members drew up a covenant 12 Jan 1839. In April 1842 they passed a resolution against African slavery. Their new meetinghouse was built debt-free, and dedicated 11 August 1842. Also members were Anna & Thomas G. Hill, most likely two of their children.

Thomas married Lucy Ann Allen 14 Jan 1821, North Kingstown, RI. Lucy (daughter of John Allen and Martha Allen) was born 16 Mar 1801; died 10 May 1879. [Group Sheet]

Caleb married Sarah Sally Greene 4 Jan 1784, Warwick, Kent Co., RI. Sarah (daughter of Thomas Greene and Mary Waterman) was born 8 Apr 1760; died 18 Oct 1839; was buried , Thomas Hill Lot, Forge Rd., North Kingstown, RI. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Sarah Hill is mentioned as a granddaughter in the will of Benoni Waterman.

According to her marriage record, she was "of Naussocut" (Nausauket).

According to the book "Descendants of Roger Williams, Book I," Waterman Line p. 34, Sarah died 1 Oct 1837.

During the Revolutionary War, John was taken from his home at night and brought to Newport, where he was in prison for about four months. His wife and children were driven from the family home, and the house was burned to the ground by the British.

Known as Judge Allen, John served as both representative and senator in the RI General Assembly and was a Justice in the court system.

He died as a result of an attack by a bull in his pasture.

The will of John Allen of NK, Esq., is dated 12 June 1813, proved 9 Aug 1813. It mentions wife Martha, d/o Christopher Allen; sons Thomas Gould, Christopher, Ray Greene, and Samuel; dtrs Lucretia dec'd w/o Silas Allen, Lydia Carpenter, Mary Gould, Susanna, and Lucy Anne; children of dec'd daughter Lucretia: George, James, and Anne.

In his Genealogy of the Allen Family, Daniel Gould Allen has John's date of birth as March 27 1747.

John married Martha Allen 19 Jan 1786. Martha (daughter of Christopher Allen and Margaret Allen) was born 17 Apr 1761; died 21 Mar 1823; was buried , Thomas Hill Lot, Forge Rd., North Kingstown, RI. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Caleb was a private in Col. Elliott's regiment of volunteers in the Revolutionary War. Also, he served as Lt. of an alarm company, 1778/79, in North Kingstown.

He was Justice of the Peace in 1780.

Caleb Hill hired a farm on the southern end of Prudence Island, where he lived for about 7 years (March 1743-March 1750); then he returned to the Quidnessett area of NK where he lived and farmed with his father. He was Justice of the Peace, Overseer of the Poor, and was both a private and a lieutenant in the Revolution. Like his father, he also was active in the Six-Principle Baptist Church -- donating money, hosting meetings, and petitioning the RI General Assembly concerning repairs. The will of Caleb Hill of North Kingstown, yeoman, was proved 14 May 1804. It mentions wife Mary; sons Stukly & Caleb; dtrs Anna Remington w/o Hezekiah, Elizabeth Champlin, Sarah Bowen w/o Benjamin, & Rebecca Bowen w/o Stephen.

Caleb married Mercy Stafford 23 Mar 1755, Warwick, RI. Mercy (daughter of Stukely Stafford and Elizabeth Waterman) was born Abt 1730; died 6 May 1807; was buried , Thomas Hill Lot, Forge Rd., North Kingstown, RI. [Group Sheet]

Thomas lived in the Nausauket area of Warwick, RI. His second wife, Mary, was the widow of his brother.

Thomas married Mary Waterman 5 Feb 1758, Warwick, RI. Mary (daughter of Benoni Waterman and Sarah Wickes) was born 6 May 1726, Warwick, RI; died 8 Jun 1765, Warwick, RI. [Group Sheet]

Thomas's will was dated 20 June 1773, and proved 8 Dec 1777 at NK. The will mentions wife Patience, d/o Daniel Green; and three children -- John, Lydia, and Samuel.

Gravestone: "In memory of Thomas Allen.junr. Esquire who died Sept. 26. 1777 in the 61 year of his Age."

Thomas married Patience Greene 1742, North Kingstown, RI. Patience (daughter of Daniel Greene) was born 1717; died 12 Sep 1801; was buried , Nk 80, Allen Cemetery, North Kingstown, RI. [Group Sheet]

The will of Christopher Allen of NK is dated 25 Apr 1816, and proved 13 Dec 1818. It mentions sons Thomas, Benjamin, and Silas; dtrs Mary (w/o Wm Cory), Anna (w/o Caleb Allen), Martha (w/o Jo__ Allen), Freelove (w/o Philip Arnold), and Elizabeth; grandchildren George and Anna.

Christopher married Margaret Allen Abt 1754. Margaret (daughter of Freelove Smith) was born Abt 1735. [Group Sheet]
