From a descendant, Susana Aravena: "We know George was born in USA. He stated, in a church record, that he was native of Providence. George was in Argentina in 1804. I know he was Protestant. The record I obtained was from the Inquisition. He was forced or not, I do not know, to convert to Catholicism. The next year he had his first son, my grandmother's grandfather's brother. As well, we know that when my grandmother was around 10 years old a relative from the line Arnold-Brown visited my family in Argentina."

George married Maria Magdalena Diana 4 May 1804, Argentina. Maria (daughter of Pascual Diana and Maria Clara Ferreira) was born 24 Jul 1788, Buenos Aires, Argentina. [Group Sheet]

The will of Gideon Arnold of Warwick, yeoman, is dated 5 Jan 1796, proved 14 March 1796. It mentions wife Patience; sons Daniel, Benjamin, and George; dtrs Sally Baker (w/o Olney), Lucy (single), and Patience (youngest, single).

Gideon married Patience Brown 22 Nov 1767, Warwick, Kent Co., RI. Patience (daughter of Elisha Brown and Patience Edmunds) was born 5 Aug 1749, Warwick, Kent Co., RI; died Abt Jun 1803. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Patience Arnold is mentioned as a daughter in her father's will dated 19 Sep 1791 at Warwick, RI.

Also, her marriage record names her as Patience Brown, d/o Elisha.

The will of Patience Arnold of Warwick, widow, is dated 13 Apr 1803, proved 25 June 1803. It mentions brother Joseph Brown; sons George B., Daniel dec'd, and Benjamin dec'd; dtrs Sally Baker, Lucy Jerauld, and Patience B. Arnold. It was witnessed by Henry Remington, Daniel Brayton, and Bowen Arnold.

Notes:

He may be the Philip Arnold who bought at public auction part of the land of Jonathan Remington in 1741. (See notes for his brother-in-law Jonathan Remington.)

Philip Arnold, son of Stephen Arnold, was a land owner in the town of Warwick, near Natick, where he resided until death.

The will of Philip Arnold of Warwick, Esq, is dated 30 May 1749 and proved 14 Aug 1749. It mentions wife Susanna; sons Thomas, Benjamin, Philip, Joseph, Gideon, and Jonathan; dtrs Susanna, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, & Hannah.

Several family trees online show two wives for Philip, both named Susanna, with the youngest son Jonathan being born of the second wife. The will of Philip's wife Susanna was proved in 1795 which suggests that she was a younger second wife, as the first Susanna was born in 1694.

I have very roughly estimated the birth years of some of the children in this family.

Notes:

Elisha is known to have been one of the first settlers in 1768 of New Providence, MA, now part of Cheshire, MA, where he was Town Treasurer. His will, dated 19 Sept 1791 at Warwick, RI, names his wife Patience and nine children, as well as three Bennet granddaughters.

I have estimated the birth years of some of his children.

Elisha married Patience Edmunds 14 Jan 1734/35, Warwick, Kent Co., RI. Patience (daughter of Joseph Edmunds and Hannah Nichols) was born Abt 1713; died 24 May 1796, Apponaug, Warwick, Kent Co., RI. [Group Sheet]
