6051 Raymond Wing's family tree at Rootsweb's Worldconnect has much historical information about the Wing family, and has been a good resource for me in my research of this family, our ancestors of so long ago. WING, Rev. John (I05197)

6052 Read about Emma of Normandy at Wikipedia. She had a very adventurous life. Normandy, Emma of (I28073)

6053 Read about Gunnor or "Gunnora" at Wikipedia -- very interesting! UNKNOWN, Gunnor (I28072)

6054 Read all about Rollo at Wikipedia and elsewhere online. He was from either Denmark or Norway. VIKING, Hrolf "Rollo" (I28069)

6055 Rebecca and her sister Mercy married two Sheldon brothers, William & Roger. Rhodes, Rebecca (I11479)

6056 Rebecca Carr Harrington was Meribah's aunt, so it is a reasonable assumption that Meribah married her first cousin. Whitford, Meribah (I01237)

6057 Rebecca had a son named Richard, mentioned in the will of her brother Nathaniel. See notes for Nathaniel, and for Rebecca's husband Mr. Stanton. Munday, Rebecca (I28596)

6058 Rebecca is listed on the membership list of the Congregational Church, Bristol, RI, as of 22 May 1785. The will of Rebecca Munro, widow, dated 16 May 1826, mentions her deceased father Richard Smith, sons Josiah & Jeremiah (dec'd), and daughters Mary & Rebecca (widow of Benjamin Munro).

There seems to be some confusion about the actual date of death. The "RI Genealogical Register," Vol. 13, p. 242 says 3 Nov 1827, while the RI Cemetery Database records her date of death from the gravestone as 31 May 1827. However, her will was proved 7 Jan 1827. Perhaps she really died in November 1826?
Smith, Rebecca (I12432)

6059 Rebecca was a daughter of George W. Bull & Elizabeth Bonnewell. (source: M.K. & Barry Miles in Miles Files Version 7, Eastern Shore Public Library website) Bull, Rebecca Susan (I22538)

6060 Rebecca was Samuel's second wife. Lindsey, Rebecca (I12530)

6061 Rebecca's husband may have been Capt. Giles Stanton born 11 Sep 1734 s/o John Stanton b 7 Sep 1700 and Ann Slocum b 17 May 1707 md. 1725 (this needs more research to be confirmed).

If so, I believe they had at least three children -- Richard Stanton, mentioned in the 1785 will of Nathaniel Munday, Rebecca's brother; Giles E. Stanton, b RI 1 Apr 1784 (Nantucket records and censuses), d 14 Sep 1854 age 69 New Bedford, md 1805 Hannah Beebe b 18 July 1786 Nantucket d/o Nathan & Elizabeth, and lived on Nantucket; and Rebeckah Stanton d 4 Aug 1776 age 3 mos and 5 days, d/o Capt. Giles and Rebeckah (Newport, RI, Colonial Burial Grounds, p 265).

The 1774 census lists Giles Stanton as a family head at Newport, RI: 2 white males 16+, 5 white males <16, 2 white females 16+, and 1 white female <16, total of 10 in household. This suggests more children, or at least a larger household than is known.

Capt. Giles Stanton of brig Two Friends arrived in NYC from Jamaica 25 June 1759 after 2 months passage.

Jan 1760: Capt. Giles Stanton arrived at Plymouth among several other ship captains who had been taken and mistreated in a barbaric manner by the French.

Capt. Giles Stanton arrived in Newport June 1770 from Hispaniola on the brig Polly.

Possible grandchildren -- interested parties who signed the estate document of Giles E. Stanton in New Bedford in 1854: Sarah S. Macy, Hannah Stanton, William B. Stanton, James E. Stanton, John Stanton, Hannah F. Gorham, Lydia Simmons, Mary B. Gifford, Henry E. Stanton, Elizabeth Matthews (?), David B. Stanton, and Albert G. Stanton, Admin. (see Rootsweb's Worldconnect for possible list of children of Giles and Hannah).

I don't know what became of Richard Stanton.

Stanton, Mr. (I28598)

6062 Rebecca's maiden name is given several different spellings in the index (Sayer, Tazer); It would be better to view the original at Jamestown. I have roughly estimated her birth year.

I think she may be a descendant of Benjamin Tayer of Newport, particularly since she has a son named Benjamin.
Tayer, Rebecca (I26871)

6063 Rebeckah and her husband were first cousins, because their fathers were brothers. Lippitt, Rebeckah (I04055)

6064 Rebeckah may have been divorced from Ashbel when she married John S. Nottage.

Her father is identified as Edward Beasely of Cranston. Her mother was most likely Almira Ellis, who was married to Edward Beasely 28 Oct 1822 at Cranston. Almira "Beazley" also married George Longley Nottage, Sr.
Beazley, Rebeckah Maria (I15992)

6065 Rebeka Ruggles is mentioned as niece and daughter of Rebeka Hart in the will of her uncle Nathaniel Hubbard. Hart, Rebeka (I28633)
