6751 The 1900 census gives Annie's dob as Jan 1876 but that cannot be correct because her older brother was born in July 1875. Remington, Annie F. (I15362)

6752 The 1900 census has her name as Lavinia, and says she was born in June 1841. Her gravestone has ner name as Lavinia C. Remington, dates 1840 - 1902. Smith, Lavina C. (I07933)

6753 The 1900 census says Charlotte was born in NY, but the 1910 census says ND (written out as North Dakota).

She is a public school teacher.

I have made an assumption that the following death info in the SSDI is for this Charlotte:

Charlotte Remington: Last Residence - Lakeville, Litchfield, Connecticut, United States of America
Born: 9 Jan 1885 Died: Jul 1982; State SSN issued: New York (before 1951)
Remington, Charlotte (I17518)

6754 The 1900 census says he was born in Oct 1870. In this year the family is living at Keokuk, Lincoln, OK. Remington, Allen A. (I20690)

6755 The 1900 census says he was born Sep 1878, but a family tree at Rootsweb says 27 Feb 1879. Remington, Nelson Brewer (I17613)

6756 The 1900 Federal Census appears to say that Cora was born in Jul 1868, but that must not be correct, because she was married c1881. Her age is 41, but that is crossed out and 31 is lightly written in above that. It also says she has been married 19 years, and she could not have been married at age 12! So, I have entered her date of birth as Jul 1858, based on the age 41 in 1900. This agrees with her age given as 51 in 1910.

In the 1910 Federal Census, Cora M. Remington, widow, and two of her children, Charlotte & Horace W., are living on Van Buren St., Milwaukee, WI.
Unknown, Cora (I17516)

6757 The 1900 Federal Census gives Julius's date of birth as Feb 1862, but that must be incorrect, because in the 1860 Federal Census, Julius is already age 1, living with his parents at Chocolay, MI. It is possible that he died and another son was born and given the same name. However, since his wife was born in 1855 and they were married c1879 (oldest daughter born 1880), it seems more likely that he was actually born 1858-1859, and is the same individual listed in the 1860 census.

In 1900, the family is living on North Fifth Street, Ward 5, Marquette, Marquette Co., MI: Julius 38, Anna 40, William 15, Lillie 11, Jesse 8, & Virginia 5. A boarder is also in the household -- Arthur Lemieux, age 8.

In the Federal Census of 1910, Julius Remington is a widower age 52, boarding at Marquette, Marquette Co., MI. At least three of his children are living at Chocolay, MI.

In 1930, Julius Remington is an inmate at the Marquette County Infirmery.

His middle name as Edwin came from Familysearch.org (IGI). This site also shows his birthplace as Newberry, Luce Co., MI.

Remington, Julius Edwin (I18283)

6758 The 1900 Federal Census has his date of birth as Jan 1832.

In the Federal Census of 1850, Joseph & Roby are living at Tiverton in the Wing household which consists of the following individuals: Edward Wing 78 MA, Elizabeth Wing 73 PA, Ann Hopkins 76 PA, Adeline Manchester 15 RI, Joseph Rounds 22 RI, Roby Rounds 20 RI, John Keefe 24 Ire, and Isaac Manchester 11 RI.

In the Federal Census of 1860, Joseph & Roby are living at Tiverton. They have a son, Arthur S. Listed next to them is Roby's grandmother Roby ("Rhoda") Dennis and her son Bradford Dennis.

In the Federal census of 1870, Joseph & Roby are still at Tiverton. With them is son Arthur 11, and Bradford Rounds 23, Joseph's half-brother.

In the Federal Census of 1880, Joseph & Roby, ages 49 & 50, are still at Tiverton. Joseph is a farmer. Both of their children have died.
Rounds, Joseph (I03151)

6759 The 1900 Federal Census has his date of birth as Jan 1873. Burr J. & Mary Remington, ages 27 & 37, are living at Horicon, Warren Co., NY. They have two children, and are living next door to Burr's widowed father, Ziba, and widowed aunt, Eliza.

In 1910, Burr, Mary, Pauline, & Ralph are still at Horicon, NY.
Remington, Burdett J. "Burr" (I15037)

6760 The 1900 Federal Census says Charles was born in March 1868.

In 1900 and 1910 the family is living at Warwick, RI.

In 1920 Charles & Elizabeth are in Providence. A niece, Veronica Bergin, age 28, is with them. In 1930 they are at 41 Harrison, Providence. Their daughter, Elsie Spaulding, is with them, along with three grandchildren: Norbert, Ruth, & Kenneth Spaulding.
Remington, Charles Deming (I06469)

6761 The 1900 Federal Census says Frederick was born in Oct 1850, but it had to be 1849, because he was in the 1850 census.

In 1900, Fred H. & Cora Remington are living at 158 Knapp Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co., WI, with their three living children (according to the census data, she has had one child that is no longer living).
Remington, Frederick H. (I11256)

6762 The 1910 census says Martha's marriage to Burwell Lewis is her first. So I am not sure about the marriage to James Sparrow, if his marriage was to another Martha Berry. Berry, Martha Jane (I22517)

6763 The 1911 DK census gives her dob and birthplace. The family is living in Aarhus, and Kirstine's widowed mother is living with them. The surname is spelled Kristiansen. Christiansen, Maren Kirstine (I04700)

6764 The 1920 census shows his middle name as Waterman. He is age 34, single, and living with his family in Manhattan, NY. In the 1930 Federal Census, Henry Remington, Jr., is 44 and married. The census says he was married, at age 36, to Amy, now age 42. His widowed father is in the home; Henry Sr. is age 80. Also, his brother Harold, 42 and single, is with them. He has three young daughters: Helen, Edith, & Virginia. Remington, Henry Waterman Jr. (I05601)

6765 The 1930 Federal Census has her name as Marjorie, but it may have been Margaret as in an online query. Remington, Marjorie Margaret (I10697)

6766 The 1930 Federal Census has her name as Martha. Doucette, Monica (I19261)

6767 The 28 Dec 1818 Warwick will of Ann Arnold, widow of Benjamin, mentions her son Simon and daughter Mary, wife of Elisha Arnold. Unknown, Ann (I13025)

6768 The 8 Dec 1737 will of Bethiah Holden of Warwick, widow, mentions her deceased husband, Maj. Randall Holden Esq. of Warwick, and children John (eldest), Randall, Susannah, Waite (w/o William Holden of Wa., Esq.), Mary (w/o Thomas Rice of Wa., Esq.), and Frances (w/o Mr. Low); also grandchildren Anthony, Mary, & Frances Low. Waterman, Bethiah Betty (I04447)

6769 The age of 14 seems young to be getting married, but the dates and family information are from "Elder John Gorton and the Six-Principle Baptist Church," edited by Cherry Bamberg. She was born at North Kingstown, but the birth was registered at East Greenwich. It is possible that the incorrect year was recorded. Pearce, Ellenor (I12409)

6770 The ages and birth order of the children are not certain. Birth years have been estimated for most. BORDEN, Mary (I03156)

6771 The Allen family were of Prudence Island, according to "Representative Men of Old Families of Southeastern MA," V. I, p. 173.

I have estimated Mary's year of birth, assuming that she was about 20 when she was married, and that none of her children were multiple births. Martha Benns gives her year of death as 1710, the same as for her husband Thomas (see Remington book at Rhode Island Historical Library). She is called Marie in her father's will (William Allin, 2 June 1685 Portsmouth, RI), but Mary in her husband's will (1710 Warwick, RI).

It is unclear exactly where she was born.
ALLEN, Mary (I02806)

6772 The article "A Line of Descent from David Nichols of Coventry" by Ruth Nichols Reynolds says that a Prisilla Nichols was admitted to Maple Root Church membership on 1782, along with Jonathan & Prisilla. She also says this Prisilla married a Philip Johnson. Now, if this is not a clerical error, then this younger Prisilla is likely the daughter of Jonathan & Prisilla. However, is it possible that two different Prisilla Nicholses married two different Philip Johnsons? Certainly -- but I am reluctant to put this forth as fact without examining the evidence. The writer, Ruth Reynolds, may have mixed up the dates.

But, in the interest of clues, I am including the information here -- that this younger Prisilla (assuming she actually existed) may have married a Philip Johnson,

Nichols, Prisilla (I09348)

6773 The Babson web site says her surname was Rice, but the RI Cemetery Database has her surname as Waite. (needs more research) Waite, Jane Carey (I13653)

6774 The baptismal record gives her name as Suzanna, and her parents' names as George Edwards and Abigail Wray. I have estimated her birthday. Edwards, Suzanna "Susan" (I00066)

6775 The baptismal records gives her father as Geo Edwards, no mother's name given. I have estimated her birthday.

Elizabeth (Edwards) Wardell died of a cerebral embolism at age 64y 10m 4d.
Edwards, Elizabeth "Lizzie" (I00067)

6776 The Barbour marriage record says Eliza married James Adams, but the original record says Jarvis Adams, per Windham Town Clerk, 9 Jan 2025 email. Family F11130

6777 The Bates genealogy book suggests that her surname may have been Burge. Unknown, Mary (I06326)

6778 The Battey Family Papers give the date of marriage as 21 of the 9th month 1705. I don't know if the person who recorded the date in the family papers used the old Julian style of dating, in which case it would be November; or the Gregorian, meaning September. Family F06711

6779 The Bell family moved to Wayne Co., MI by 1820 (source: Marge Pruitt Clark on Genealogy.com Reynolds message board). Bell, Ralph Randolph Wheelock (I22120)

6780 The Bill of Mortality says Mrs. Rogers died at age 64. Unknown, Sarah (I24408)

6781 The birth dates for his first 10 children were found in the Massachusetts birth records. GIFFORD, Stephen (I22445)

6782 The birth dates of the children in this family seem too close, but this is as they are written in the 1900 Federal Census. According to this census, Martha has had three children, all of whom are living at the time.

In the 1900 Federal Census, Arthur & Martha Danforth and their three children are living at Hingham, MA, with Martha's parents.

In the 1910 Federal Census, the three children in this family are living at Peterborough, Hillsborough Co., NH, with the family of Sumner & Lizzie Perry. Their parents may have died (?).
Danforth, Arthur C. (I19420)

6783 The birth entry reads, "of Henry L. and Anna W." Remington, Harry W. (I04812)

6784 The birth record as indexed in the Barbour Collection says Charles. Remington, Chloe (I08311)

6785 The birth record at Bristol says she is the third child born to Frank & Mary Chafee. Chafee, Ruth Austin (I00104)

6786 The birth record at East Greenwich says Tabitha was born at Kings Towne and the other siblings at East Greenwich. Hill, Tabitha (I27232)

6787 The birth record at Fall River has her date of birth as 27 May 1847. The death record has her name as Laura Maria. Remington, Laura Minerva (1) (I05266)

6788 The birth record at Jamestown identifies her as daughter of John & Mary Remington.

BSR says that on 22 Sept 1777, Dinah was granted permission by the Council of War to proceed in a flag of truce to the island of Jamestown, under direction of Col. Dyer.
Remington, Dinah (I05417)

6789 The birth record at Jamestown identifies her as daughter of John & Mary Remington.

I am not positive that this is the Catharine/Catherine Remington who married Elisha Tew, but based on approximate age and location it seems a reasonable assumption.

See "The History of the Descendants of Elder John Strong," Volume 2, by Benjamin Woodbridge Dwight, p. 1397 (Google Books).
Remington, Catherine (I05418)

6790 The birth record at Jamestown identifies him as son of John & Mary Remington.

I am not positive that his marriage and data belongs to this Jonathan, but I am making an assumption, subject to further research. The will abstract is in the RI Genealogical Register, Vol. 7, No. 1. It identifies him as a mariner of Newport, and mentions his wife by name. No other family members are mentioned.

This must be correct because the Family Bible Record of Clemence (Remington) Cornell has this as his date of death. (Bible record courtesy of David Gips) However, her birth date for Jonathan is 10 Feb 1749, which differs from the town records.
Remington, Jonathan (I05416)

6791 The birth record at Jamestown reads: "Abigale Reminton daughter of Gershom Reminton & Clemans his wife was born August ye 14th 1718." Remington, Abigail (I04076)

6792 The birth record at Jamestown reads: "Dinah Reminton daughter of Gershom & Clemans his wife born 17 August 1716." Another entry on a different page says 1717. Remington, Dinah (I04077)

6793 The birth record at Providence City Hall says she is the fourth child born to this couple. For place of birth it says: "Cov Hosp & Allen." John H. Berry's birthplace is given as Horntown, VA; Eliza A. Berry's birthplace is given as Fall River, MA.

Eliza is with the family in the 1870 Federal Census, but not with her widowed mother in the RI State Census of 1875.

The death record says she died at age 6.
Berry, Eliza Virginia "Jennie" (I03170)

6794 The birth record at West Greenwich reads: "Rubin whitford the First Son of Nicholas whitford and mary his wife was Born June the 16th Day AD 1748 and the fifth Day of the week and between nine and ten of the clock in the after noon."

See his will dated 9 Sept 1830, proved 29 Oct 1831 at West Greenwich. In it he mentions his father Nicholas Whitford, uncle Solomon Whitford, wife Comfort Whitford, son William B. Whitford, and daughter Mary Whitford. The gravestones of Reuben and Comfort have been photographed and are posted on the family tree at our web site [www.thesorensens.net]. They are in Historical Cemetery #27, off Burnt Sawmill Rd., West Greenwich.
Whitford, Reuben (I01244)

6795 The birth record for her children identifies Maren as "Maren Kirstine Nielsen." Her father was Nels or Niels Pedersen, but at this time children received the father's first name, with "sen" after it, as a surname. Nielsen, Maren Kirstine (I00796)

6796 The birth record for Remington Northup says he was a son of Nicholas & Ann (Slocum) Northup. Was this a clerk's error? I have a marriage for another Ann Slocum to Nicholas, William's older brother; but supposedly she died defore Remington would have been born. This puzzling entry needs more research.

At the present time I am assuming that Remington was indeed a son of William & Ann. He went to Oneida, NY, as they did. Also, he named a son William.
Northup, Remington Sr. (I08615)

6797 The birth record gives his name as Frankie L. Remington.

In 1900, Frank & Alice and their two children are living with his parents at New Bedford, MA.

In 1910, 1920, and 1930, Frank & Alice are still living at New Bedford, MA.
Remington, Francis "Frank" Logan (I06437)

6798 The birth record identifies David as son of Joseph & Mary.

His death record says he died at age 78.

In the 1850 Federal Census, David & Abigail Munro are ages 67 & 59, both b RI. They are living at Bristol, RI. With them is George H. Munro, 21. They are near Jonathan & Elizabeth.

In the 1860 Federal Census, David & Abbey Munro are still at Bristol. He is 77 and she is 70.

David's occupation is given as gardener.
MUNROE, David (I16525)

6799 The birth record identifies Peter as son of John & Susanna. Remington, Peter (I04178)

6800 The birth record in Blackstone, MA, has his name as Paul Vincent, but the census gives his name as Vincent P. The SSDI says Paul Remington. His Social Security number was issued in MA; his last known residence was Redwood City, San Mateo, California. Remington, Paul Vincent (I15781)
