Notes |
- Hezekiah was a son of Samuel Gorton, Jr., the eldest son of the original Samuell Gorton who is our ancestor and the founder of Warwick. Hezekiah's father and our ancestor Benjamin were brothers. In 1724 the RI General Assembly granted Hezekiah permission to run a ferry from Warwick Neck to Prudence Island, en route to Newport. He lost this privilege in 1746.
