    • According to "New England Marriages Prior to 1700" ( by Clarence Almon Torrey, Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore, 1985), the date of this marriage is 19 March 1657/8. Boyd Scott Remington has 19 Jan 1658. The town records probably say "the first month," which at that time was March. An online transcript of the Rowley records has 19 June 1658, as does Carl Boyer's "Ancestral Lines Revised.".

  • Notes
    • Boyd Scott Remington does not list the last three children in this family; however, they are listed in the genealogy at the Suffield Historical Society. Hannah is listed in "Thomas Remington of Suffield, CT, and Some of His Descendants."

An SAR application says Hannah Remington born 25 March 1723 (no parents given) married Joseph Leavitt. The will of Hannah Leavitt mentions brother Samuel Remington as Executor, but genealogies show Samuel son of John and Hannah died in 1763, before Hannah's will was written in 1769. I wonder if that date of death is incorrect. why would she name her deceased brother as Executor? I haven't been able to find another Samuel who might have had a sister Hannah in this time frame.
