  • Notes
    • Henry's first wife had no children.
The following information is from William E. Wright's book, "Ancestors and Descendants of William Browning Greene and Mary Hoxsie Lewis with Allied Families" :
After the death of John Remington, husband of Abigail (Richmond), Henry supported Abigail and her children. He worked her farm with his slaves and eventually bought it from her daughters. Abigail gave him three sons. On 27 March 1694 he was charged by Abigail with being the father of her two sons (at that time), and the court ordered him to indemnify Kings Towne for any charge. Henry & Abigail went on to have two more children. On 25 Oct 1732, Henry Gardner made his will; it was proved 5 March 1744 at South Kingstown, RI. It names Abigail as his wife, and sons Henry, Ephraim, and William.
