Notes - Her name is sometimes spelled Scynthia, but is spelled Cynthia in the RI Cemetery Database, and in the death entry at Foster Town House (Foster Deaths 1851 - 1918, p. 30). It also says she was born at Foster.
In the 1860 Federal Census, Cynthia is age 40, widowed, and the governess of the family farm in Foster. Three daughters are with her: Elfrida, Hannah, & Mary. Hannah Tillinghast, age 75, and Welthan Tillinghast, age 68, are in the household. Hannah is Cynthia's mother.
In the 1880 Federal Census, Cynthia Remington is age 60, keeping house in Foster, RI. Living with her is a servant, Addie Hopkins, age 17.
