Notes |
- One source says that Thomas was b. 1626-28, married in 1653, and had four sons -- Thomas, Stephen, Ebenezer, & Benjamin, and one daughter -- Hannah. It also says that the oldest son, Thomas, was b.1654 and went to Shrewsbury, NJ, settling near land there which had been purchased by his uncle, John Cooke, and his aunt's Borden brothers, and other Rhode Islanders. This Thomas Cooke III was a member of the House of Deputies of East New Jersey in 1693. He died at sea on a voyage to England, leaving a wife and three children, including a son William who later held various government positions in New Jersey.
