The book "Little Compton Families" by Benjamin Franklin Wilbour gives Mary's surname as Wordell.
According to the book "Charts and Chronicles of Matthew Grenelle's Descendants," p. 13, Mary Wodell was a descendant of no less than 10 of the barons who forced King John to accept the Magna Carta in 1215. Their names were: Roger & Hugh Bigood, Richard & Gilbert deClare, John FitzRobert, Robert FitzWalter, John de Lacie, William Mallet, Saire de Quincey, and Robert de Vere. (See source: John Wurt's "Magna Charta.") This information, however, may be suspect.
