    • In her father's will she was given "the real estate located on the corner of Center and Eagle Street purchased by me of B. F. Remington, and the heirs of John Remington." B. F. Remington was brother to Jane's mother Mary.

      In the Federal Census of 1870, Jane Cady is a widow aged 56 MA, still living at Adams, Berkshire Co., MA. With her are the following: Virginia 32, Henry 28, Stella 23, Eddy 21, Arthur 18, Mary 14, Lizzie 11, and Mary McCarty 23.

      In 1880 she is aged 65, living on Church St., North Adams, MA, with Henry A. 37, Arthur D. 28, Mary L. 24, Elizabeth M. 22; and a servant Annie Convey 23.
