  Phebe and her sister Hope married two brothers. In the 1860 census, Phebe Pearce is age 45 RI, "widow" living in New Bedford. Also in the household are: Phebe J. 19 MA, Frank 16 MA, and Ella M. 14 MA; also Abner Remington 41 RI.
