    • In 1860 Mary Remington and her children are living with Ichabod & Bathsheba Coggeshall, ages 78 & 77 (1860 Federal Census, New Bedford, p. 681).

      However, in 1850 she and Joseph and children are living next to Ichabod & Bathsheba Coggeshall, ages 30 & 27. There seems to be a discrepancy in their ages, perhaps due to an error by the census taker.

      In the 1870 census, Mary Remington is age 63, living at New Bedford with her three daughters Alice 40, Lucy 26, & Ella 20.

      In 1880 Mary W. Remington is age 72, keeping house at 169 County St., New Bedford, along with single daughters Lucy J. 35 (school teacher) and Ella H. 28 (at home).

      The birth record of daughter Eleanor says Mary was born at Tiverton, RI.
