    • Notes from "The Armington Family in America": Dr. Hervey Armington was an eminently successful physician in Providence from about the year 1828 until his death. In his younger years he was a sailor, then traveled to Cincinnati, OH; Philadelphia, PA; & Pittsburgh, PA. In Ohio he studied medicine in a doctor's office and at Ohio Medical College, graduating in 1822. He returned to Providence around 1825.
