    • Alfred's marriage is noted in the book "Genealogies of the Different Families Bearing the Name of Kent in the United States . . . " by L. Vernon Briggs, p. 148. However, this section is prefaced with the author's comment: "Others by the name of Kent whom I have been unable to locate, but who are connected with the above families, are as follows."

      In the 1880 Federal Census, both Hannah R. Kent and Russel D. Kent have noted that their father was born in Connecticut.
